Regular measurement of heart rate variability (HRV) shows individual training load and helps determine the ideal training intensity. HRV: Fitness, Recovery, and Training Load

Heart Rate Variability
Heart rate variability (HRV) is an indicator of fitness, training load, and general stress. Low HRV values indicate overload, high values confirm training success. HRV is individual: it depends on age and sex, and differs even between similarly trained people.
CardioCard Fitness creates individual fitness curves for your members and highlights deviations from their baseline HRV. Members adjust training load if HRV drops and see progress confirmed by steadily rising HRV values.

Step Test
With CardioCard Step Tests you check fitness via short step protocols followed by heart rate measurement. Taking age and sex into account you receive a fitness assessment. Tests for youth, adults, competitive athletes, and older clients provide the right challenge: step height, speed, and duration.

Coherent Breathing
Coherent breathing is a technique where breathing is consciously synchronized with heart rhythm to bring the body into a state of coherence. The breath rhythm is controlled and adjusted to a frequency that harmonizes with the heartbeat.
CardioCard Fitness guides members in coherent breathing and gives instant feedback on success. CardioCard recommends the individual optimal breathing rhythm. Beyond coherent breathing, CardioCard Fitness offers many activating or relaxing breathing exercises. Together with our partners at Physiofit Münster we developed programs for intensive breathing, box breathing, ladder breathing, and more relaxation practices.

In all my breathing trainings I use CardioCard to make the effects of breathing exercises on the cardiovascular system and heart rate variability visible immediately. CardioCard guides the sessions, and participants see the effect on themselves. Always a big hit!

Heartbeat Detection
Automatic CardioCard Fitness heartbeat detection reliably finds ECG-visible heartbeats. Even in the presence of artifacts: AI-based detection is robust and handles noisy recordings.
Heart rate variability (HRV) measures changes in heart rhythm in the millisecond (ms) range. Typical values range from 20ms to 50ms and therefore require high precision. Besides ECG-based heartbeat detection, photoplethysmography (PPG, e.g. fitness bands) and even camera-based smartphone apps are common.ECG remains the gold standard and delivers the most precise values.
